Have We Met Before? was commissioned by the BBC and BFI as part of their Born Digital emerging filmmaker scheme to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the World World Web.
Written and directed by Oliver Mason and produced by Syd Heather, the short film explores the history of sex in gay men’s communities over five decades from the 1970s to the present day, and how the internet has changed the way gay men meet forever.
Our title design used contrasting pastel colours, adding a humour and boldness to subjects which have often been kept secret or shameful. The accompanying poster, using photography by Brendan Walker, brought together the eras depicted in the film into one image.
